What has noticeably been missing through the years is the lack of a formal entry from famed automotive manufacturer, Porsche. Known for their sports coupes and exhilarating performance, Porsche has shied away from the luxury sedan segment and their closest entry is their Cayenne, which fulfills the luxury SUV segment. It would only be a matter of time before Porsche would recognize the high demand within the luxury performance market and a vehicle would be developed. Enter the Porsche Panamera.

Porsche picked an opportune time and location for the debut as well, knowing that the emerging Chinese market would embrace the Panamera's styling and performance with open arms. It's no secret that Mercedes-Benz's S-class has captured the majority of the luxury performance sedan market in China, especially with its unmistakable branding and prestige. But the more distinguished and established gentleman isn't always looking towards owning a vehicle that has already oversaturated the streets.
